You should check out pandora.com. You can type in an artist or title of a song and it will generate a "radio station" customized to your liking.

check out http://launch.yahoo.com - you can build a completely customized radio station and get introduced to other simmilar artists that way. You already have a Yahoo ID - the username you used to post this question would be your login there.
