earthing, fuse, resistors, circuit breakers, capacitors or diodes? pls tell me. this is for an assignment i need to do for science.

you can use fuse or circuit breakers for safety as they low melting point and with the increase in current the get melted and stop the circuit. capicitors are used for storing charges .you can charge a capacitor with a dc source and then can apply it to anyother appliance. diode allow current to pass only when forward biased but if it is reversed biased then no current passes it used in amplifires and rectifires .Resistor is the device which could only oppose the current flow to some extent. so you can use fuse and circuit breakers to break the circuit and get rid of short circuits.
