I'm in my mid 20's, and I've been diagnosed with mono now since last August, so roughly 8 months. It is really debilitating: fever recurring forr the first few months, fatigue, low mood, constant recurrence of sore throat, white patches on tonsils, swollen lymph nodes on neck. These symptoms seem to appear whenever it seems. Many credible sites like WebMd say mono is suppose to go away w/in weeks but that is not the case w/ me. Besides drinking lots of fluid and getting plenty of rest, is there anything treat this ailment?

Please help.

First of all, I like to disagree COMPLETELY with the answer above that states Homeopathic remedies haven't been proven and that they are sugar pill. That's the biggest load
of **** I've heard yet. There are in fact remedies for mono in homeopathic medicine. My question is, is it really mono or do you have Chronic Fatigue, which often mimics mono but lasts longer, or even Epstein-Barr, after all 8 months is a long time. I would seek out a homeopath or naturopath and ask them, and in the mean time, as suggest previous, drink lots of
immunity building juices (fresh squeezed-juiced the best) and fresh water, lots of veggies (raw is best, or lightly steamed), but if you can totally cut out sugar, sweetners etc. fruit juice is more than enough sugar, actually even avoid lots of fruits, coffee, tea, cigarettes (basically stimulants). Try your best to relax (try yoga, meditation or breathing exercises) try at get out for at least a small walk, for fresh air and exercise. But above all take it easy, don't push yourself, sleep as much as you need, can you or are you taking time from work or school?, delegate and don't allow people to make you feel bad for resting and sleeping lots, try and learn your limits I know its hard but if your going to get better you will have to slow it down, so your body/mind can recuperate.
Good Luck and I surely hope you feel better soon!!!

Are you stressed? Sometimes stress can do terrible things to the body. Also eating as healthy as possible, lots of fruits and veggies will help. If it is possible try doing a juice cleanse for a week or so. Drinking only juices of fruits and vegetables, water, and vegetable broths. This will give your body adequate calories to carry out it's functions. Your body will go into a protein starvation and feed off all diseased cells. This is a miraculous healing technique. Immediately you will have more energy and notice symptoms disappearing. Even one day can help.

Try talking to your doctor about it. Also homeopathic medicine has never been scientificly proven to work so you should not rely on homeopathic remidies. (Most homeopathic pill are in fact just sugar pills)
