im flying my filipina fiancee along with her son from cebu to the USA., on a k1 fiancee visa, so that we can marry. we need to know if shes allowed to depart the philippines directly from cebu to another country, or if she must go via manila, kasi there are cheaper tickets if you dont go through manila, and also we need to know if shes allowed to enter the USA through virtually any international airport or only a few. and if its cheaper or better to buy tickets via a cebu travel agent or online. the cebu agents seem to route via manila and LAX or sanfrancisco. where online tickets seem prone to direct flights from cebu to japan then to houston texas. i dont want to have her fly to the USA, then be denied entry due to a technicality like wrong airport. thanks for any help you can provide.

as long as she have that k1 visa she can enter US legally no matter what airport she comes from and no matter what US airport she enters.

the bigger picture here is that she have the visa.

try comparing the tickets on line and the travel agent.

surf the website of the Philippine airline you can find on lines sales there and buy one take on offer.

one thing i know for sure is that other airlines (i.e, continental,AA ) are expensive than Philippine airline

absolutely. the visa that she has will not hold any restriction as to which city she must depart or what airport she must enter.

the possible reasons why she would be denied entry could be that her visa envelope is unsealed (specific instructions from the embassy is to keep it sealed when you received it, only to be opened by the border official) or that she is carrying any illegal items... or the border official feels that she is a threat to the US.

once she is denied however, there is nothing else you can do but to turn back and go home. you will never be allowed entry unless there is a higher authority to override the border official's decision.

so yeah, she can depart from any city and enter through any airport.

i'm not sure what your budget is... but philippine airlines or cathay pacific will prove to be a better way for your fiancee especially if she is travelling with a kid. i'm not sure how well-experienced she is in airline travel... but to change planes in different countries will prove to be confusing and stressful for someone even if that person is used to flying long distances.

You can keep extending up to a total of one year stay then you have to leave country and come back again. Anytime you enter The Philippines and your Filipina wife is with you, go thru immigrations checkpoint together and ask for balakbayan stamp. Its good for one year stay and you don't have to keep getting extensions every 2 months.

She can exit the Philippines and enter the U.S. at any "International Airport" that has a customs/immagration officer present. However dont take my word for it or the word of anyone else who leaves a reply here. Go to this web link and click on the forums page and ask your question to Ray http://www.mag-anak.org/ You will find all the information you will ever want or need on this web site

yes she can leave from any airport as long as her visa is valid. just make sure papers are ready and in order to avoid the stress (binders are great). in terms of tickets, cheaper isnt always better. as a frequent traveler with 2 young kids, ive been to different countries and took different airlines..nobody beats cathay pacific airlines in terms of customer service. they're the most helpful to travelers with kids. i go back to cebu every year and it's the only airline i will consider
