There were not 5 last year. There never has been, and most likely will never be. See here: http://www.stat.yale.edu/~jay/News/WSJbb.pdf

I'm not sure if there ever has been one, but this is a story i like to share haha; i'm clueless when it comes to sports; like seriously. i filled out a bracket for fun last year because the teacher wanted everyone to do one. Turns out I filled out the last two finalists correctly -- UCLA & Florida. I'm not sure about the others in between because I never even bothered to check back then, i was so suprise i got those 2 right. I put UCLA as the winner, but instead it was Florida (or was it vice-versa? i have no idea).

There has bound to be if you take into account the chances every year. Millions of people fill out many brackets which over the years multiplies increasing the chances of the 'perfect bracket' which I would no be surprised if there are even one or perhaps more than one per year.

Every keeps saying it's a 1 in 9.2B chance (2 to the 63th power). That assumes the odds are 50/50 for every game, which it is not. A lot more people get over 50% of games than less than 50% due to rankings and odds.

the chances of 1 to 9.2 quatillion isn't really accurate. Because what are the chances a 1 seed will lose first round. People can make educated guesses and lower that number.

not that is known of. However, if one is filled out (in the rare chance of 1 in 9.2 quintillion) there are cash prizes offered of over 10 million dollars
