no, that's not true. i'll bet 99% of americans know where canada is. or maybe your fact is right and you just have to look at the number of immigrants in america or the level of education of most americans. but i'll bet you 99% of americans know where canada is.

Hey Megan, just remember 73% of statistics are made up, 47% of people know that! No one can actually interview the entire U.S population to get a real percentage. In reality statistics are just facts analysized into numbers, and facts just statements (known to be true or accepted as true), not abosulte certainty. It is up to the individual to interpret these facts as they see fit.
However I would find it hilarious if your question is true! In my opinion I could not believe 73% maybe 10%! And yes I do know where it is located! LOL

I can believe 27% but 73%?
that is too high.
oh and Canada is North of the lower 48 states, east of Alaska, and west of the North Atlantic.

It might be true. Who knows. I don't know why people don't bother learning geography. It makes it so difficult to understand anything without even a rough understanding of where places in the world are.

I doubt it, but it's getting close to that number when asked about the holocaust and other important events. History is such a beautiful thing and I wish more people would be interested in it. I hope and pray the kids will never stop wanting to know about the generations before them!

I sure do and I am American. A lot of Japanese are not aware of it though. Also if you want to point out the stupidity of Americans, watch your English. "You do know where it is located, right?"

I doubt it is true, but you did not provide a source so I cannot comment on the validity of your claim, other than to say that I have never met anyone who did not know where Canada is.

I think that some ppl purposely play dumb when taking those polls just to put in wild results. Everyone I know knows where Canada is. It's a European country right? haha

Don't know where you get your facts from, but I'm quite certain that 73% is inacurate.
I certainly do know where Canada is, I've been there many times.

I certainly hope not. We have a fairly good relationship with the States, and most maps of the United States feature southern Ontario, and the southern parts of most provinces.
