Sometimes people might try to enhance their future career opportunities. For instance, if a psychology major minored in biology, then they have the option of going toward a more scientific career.

Let's say that a minor is better than nothing. However, it will be difficult to get a job just based on your minor, especially if it is related to the sciences or engineering. That is because employers get enough applicants who have majored in the field. A minor would bolster your resume if it is complementary to your major such as political science major and philosophy minor.
