A guy offered me Monroe, Kazmir, and Rivera for my Manny, McCann and Lilly. I need at least one great closer...I have none.... I have Mauer as my Starting Catcher.

I want to decline it and I want to offer:

Manny, Lilly and McCann
for
Pierre, Rivera and Lilly

Would you accept this?!?!?

Alright, first this trade will make or brake ur season I bet, messing with that many players will impact at the end of the season saying damn i gave up someone who studded out, or kicking urself cause someone u got was on the DL all year...my imput onn all the players and the trade overall is this...

Monroe- has a knee problem, a good knee problem where the therapy requires him to stay active so he'll keep playing, but its still a problem, it could get worse, it could not hurt but still effect him, the addition of sheffield, and keeping casey who should get time at 1B, sheffield might take a couple games from him in the OF...

Manny- I think manny is going to have a hot year, he wants to prove that he's either worth more money too keep a red sox, or good enough for someone else to trade for him...he's getting fed up with the red sox every year but since he's never doing outstanding theres nothing he can do, so expect him to be better this year, than the past...

McCann- I dont really like, but in most leagues he's the second best catcher...honestly thats not saying much cause really it goes mauer, everybody...theres no one catcher in baseball that is in the middle of lineups, putting up power numbers along with jsut getting on base, and even being able to do what he has to to score runs, most catchers are homer or out hitters... not too many (now that kenall and lo duca are older) are regular on base hitters...basically no team in fantasy is going to win or lose a season because of there catcher...UNLESS THEY GOT MAUER, or the lucky breakout catcher of the year... my guess on that guy, molina on the cardinals, or jojhima, jojhimas got a year under his belt, with decent numbers last year, power, consistency, and great gap hitter... look for him to finish top 5, and molina is young, coming into a very consistant clutch hitter, only problem is it seems when the at-bat doesn't matter he tries harder and fails, when the at-bats important he relaxes and focus on putting the bat on the ball, and comes through...

Lilly- not sure what team he's on this year, I think i saw its the giants, but he's been over the hill for a couple years, and if u got atleast two star pitchers that will get u 13+ wins I could live without lilly, u'll be able to pick up a guy during the season that will do as good as him...

Kazmir- again I think hes on tampa bay, which is my reason to believe, may have good strikeout, and walk numbers, but just cant count on the wins column to produce much...again not really worth keeping when u can pick up a rookie that turns it on this year...

Rivera- everyone knows he's the man, the closer, mr automatic, but rivera just worries me this year, cause it seems like he's been so lights out for so many years without missing a beat, it's like playing roullette and u started with $100 and ur at $1,000,000 and u keep going all in on red or black.. it feels like one year its just gonna end and then everyone will talk about did he stay in the game too long??? It could be 07 it could be 2010 who knows, just getting too chancy....

Pierre- who knows, wasnt amasing last year, but on cubs with a bunch of knew ring hunry guys, could work out... I like him but since u can mix ur OF to play actually 3 RFs or something, u gotta look at wat stats u need, if u have noone who can steal that well, u DONT WANT PIERRE, he's not going to steal enough to cover ur whole team, if u steal average or a lot he'll defenitly put u over the top, and secure u a win in the steal stat throught the season...

So like everyone, confused as to where Lilly is supposed to fall.

You need to trade McCann if you already have Mauer, but you are undervaluing him here. Manny is first round level talent (despite being drafted in the second in most drafts. McCann is a quality catcher, one of three that are in that first tier before an enormous dropoff. And Lilly is a throw-in.

On the other side, Pierre is good, but no power. Tons of speed. Rivera is a solid closer to be sure, but saves are not that hard to pick up on the waiver wire if you pay attention. And I'll assume "Lilly" was supposed to be "Kazmir." Kazmir is severely overrated this year. He finished last year poorly, and got pretty badly injured. All signs point to a down year for him this year.

So you're giving up TONS of power for steals, saves, and a SLIGHT bump in starting pitcher. In points, it's not too bad, but I think you can get a better deal if you properly value players.

In terms of round values: Manny - 2nd rounder, McCann - 4th rounder, Lilly - late round

Pierre - 6/7 round, Rivera - 5/6 round, Kazmir - 7 round (and overrated)

A 2 and 4 round guy has GOT to be worth more than that. Upgrade Kazmir to someone much better (like Peavy level or so - 4th round or better) and you may have something.

No, despite what everyone says Manny is a top 15 Fantasy baseball guy. McCann is either the 2nd or 3rd best catcher, and Lilly is just ok.

I am betting you could get much more for these guys, I definatly wouldnt propose it.

you had lilly listed on both ends of the trade, if you meant monroe, then yes id definitley do it. a good closer will lower your era/whip and saves 40+. Not to mention some wins here and there.manny, well no doubt, hes great, but you can get offense a plenty this year. closers fall off pretty fast after the top 5

you should try McCann for Rivera.. straight up.

Or at worst.. trade Mauer for Nathan straight up & start McCann at catcher... but there's no reason to give up Manny for someone like Monroe, plus Kazmir's having a rough pre-season.

I'd say it's better to only lose weight at one position to gain weight at another, more needed position, than to lose weight at 2 positions to gain the same 1 & ONLY position of RP.

You have lilly on both sides I'm confused. I would decline though. I don't want Manny and Rivera is a beast.
