Washington grew Hemp. If you had a shirt made of hemp cloth it would never wear out. In times past all nautical rope was made of hemp because of it's superior strength

Washington grew hemp, but, contrary to hippie pot head belief, it was for rope and cloth, not for getting high. Hemp doesn't produce potent THC like regular marijuana, but can be used for textiles.
