Ok, I twisted my knee more than 3 weeks ago skiing. It was really sore the first week. I didn't have any problem putting my weight on it. It was just sore when I would bend my knee. It seems fine now, but sometimes my knee is still a little sore. Like when I'm sitting at a restaurant, I have a habit of bending my knees with my feet under my seat. After sitting like this for a while, when I try to stand up, my knee is stiff and sore until I walk it off.

Do you think it would be a problem if I started light running? Anyone have a similar experience?

i would hold off running for now. you may want to see an orthopedic surgeon to rule out a meniscus or ligament injury before resume running. your symptoms may indicate a meniscal tear which can propagate into a larger tear.

I am the all time champ when it comes to injuries followed by rushing back too soon to running.

What I would do is run a quarter mile or so tomorrow.
Nothing more. If you feel pain at all during the run, stop immediately. If your knee feels fine the next day then go for a half mile that day and reevaluate it again on the following day.

Often times I have gone out for a run after an injury and felt fine during the run only to realize pain the following day.

Recommend you start of with light walks or jog, short distance and short duration.
After you feel better, start going back to ur own pace, but step by step.
I had hip, both knees injury, ankles injury. This is how i went of each time i had injury.
It still hurts, but you endure the pain over time.

Take care

If it was me I would do some gentle exercise with it every day until the soreness went away before I started running on it again. It might pay to have it checked by a doctor to make sure that you didn't do any other damage to it.

not yet
starting walking
then increase weekly
but if it feel uncomfortable, STOP
because your body is most important
after when you feel comfortable you can start running again
everyone recovers at their own pace
