I recently learned that "Race has not always existed. Sorting people by physical differences is a recent invention, only a few hundred years old." (from a Science Museum exhibit) Is it racist to make an issue out of race at all? Would we still stereotype/discriminate even without race?

For most of human history, there was no such concept as "race" - that idea was invented at the dawn of the Transatlantic Slave Trade.

When the false idea of "race" is finally tossed into the dustbin of history, the world will be a far far far better place!!!!

The world will be in chaos.

In a household of 5, there are already unresolved differences, siblings fighting, competing with each other.

How about in, a community, in a society, in a nation, in a world, with only one race, one President?

You know the answer.

Even in places where all of the population is comprised of the same basic race, it is human nature to find things about others that make them 'inferior', whether it be physical attractiveness, age, wealth, etc. (Where do you think we get the term "white trash" from?)
The bottom line is it is human's sinful nature to want to be superior, regardless to race. If that part of or nature could be erased, then the world would be great.

It sounds like a nice idea, but as long as greed (for money and power eg) exist, humans will find something about each other to exploit and discriminate with.

If there wasnt race, no one would have a scapegoat to blame their problems on. Oh yeah, LJ2000 has a point. I guess we'd still have religion.
