Can someone tell me what is rapid prototyping using javascript?

i dont know what the term "rapid prototyping" means? how does it help in designing?

Rapid prototyping is a Programming Model in which you deliver the look and feel including some or more of the basic expectations in the Software. This way the customer has an idea of what will be feel of the software when its delivered to you.Most major softwares like Ware-house related etc may get long time to develop and People are not ready to invest untill they are given a clue of whats going on .Also Rapid protoptying can be used when the Client is partially unsure of what is needed by him. In case of web-sites and internet javascript with HTML is the fastest as per todays norms.
In other cases it may differ.
