Definetly Eric Clapton, it's his style. It's one of the only Beatles songs where George isn't playing lead guitar.

Eric Clapton played that solo, after the invitation from his good buddy George. Then he picked up George's wife, shortly after he wroter Layla about her. Great art comes from shagging your best friend's wife.
