I agree! People are IDIOTS...that's why...selfish idiots! "oooooh, I'm not ready for a baby..." Well, TAKE BIRTH CONTROL! Instead, women think it's ok to MURDER a baby. "I don't want to suffer through pregnancy. I will be selfish and murder my innocent offspring instead!" The only way I agree with abortion is for medical reasons. If a child will not live long outside the womb. The parents should have a choice. Or if the mothers life was in severe danger, then...o.k. Otherwise...no excuse!

I think it is the woman's right to have it as an option, although I would never endorse abortion as a method of birth control. And also, not all forms of birth control are infalliable...the only one I use right now, since I know I'm not ready for the consequences of intercourse is the word "NO!" it's worked so far. My question would be with all the little girls on these boards who are so worried about becoming pregnant, why don't they just practice abstonance? That is also their right. My biggest worry with intercourse isn't pregnancy, because I know I have options when that time comes...my biggest fear is contracting HIV, because that can't be aborted and since no method of birth control guarentees 100% protection from contracting HIV that scares me more than any pregnancy ever could.

I lived through it....It's one of the worst things you can ever do. I really didn't have a choice. I wasn't sopose to be able to get pregnant. My husband was soposedly sterill. He also had cancer and was going through chemo....I couldn't have the baby because of all of the chemo, etc. I often wonder what it was, what it would have looked like, where it would be if it had been okay. I know I did what I had to do.....But it's never right to take a life, even one that would have been so deformed or would have been a vegetable or GOD knows what. I think it should be done in extreme cases. But I also know if it's done that your not human if you don't have any bad feelings because you did what you thought you had to at the time.

I know someone who used abortion as her birth control. As an adult she's infertile and lives everyday with sadness, anger and regret. Birth control is easy to get; however, there are some health insurance companies that will not pay for birth control but wil pay for an abortion. Go figure.

I support abortion on legitimate medical grounds but to use it as a form of birth control is abhorrent
With so many contraceptive devices available only a careless woman would get pregnant, or or her partners
carelessness
To me pregnancy out of rape would be conscionable , as would incest and other things

I believe each induvidual has the right to choose what to do.. but I really wish no one ever chose abortion. I'm horrified by the very idea of it, but I'm not so proud as to make the decision for thousands of women every year. I was thinking about this today, wondering if making abortions illegal would influence the people who would have gotten them to carry the baby to term or go with a friend of a friend who knows a way to get rid of "it". I think there would be a little of both outcomes. Pro-lifers like to think that if it was illegal, then people would be more careful about their sexual practices, beleiving many people use abortion as birth control. I came to the realization that, in a twisted way, they're right. While I firmly believe I would never, ever get an abortion- maybe knowing I could (legally speaking) has made me less responsible. Maybe that's the case, but I don't think making it illegal is going to make thousands upon thousands of women simultaneously close their legs. I think it will just make them less safe in trying to get rid of the baby they don't want. People are shallow. If you make the slightly disturbing illegal, people are just going to make it more disturbing trying to do it anyways. Like that woman about a year ago- for some reason couldn't get an abortion, so she tried drinking herself to miscarriage instead. Unfortunately, she ended up delivering a baby who will definately live- but with sever fetal alcohol syndrome. If we illegalize abortion, we will be flooded with horrifying stories of women trying to abort, and either seriously damaging the fetus, or possibly even killing themselves.

Sometimes you have to understand that abortion are due to lack of understanding. It can also can comes from rape, and illness.
To be honest, I rather choose abortion then give birth to a child that I cant be there, take care, and provide them the best life they deserves. Beucase if I can't providing them a life like, they might end up in jail, join in a gang, or life repeating again.
I rather not know them, then knowing them live in suffer and pain.
