Well...I know the cpu went in right, I lined up the arrows and it fell right in. The only thing that went on weird was the heatsink and fan, I got the clamp on, but the way it was supposed to lock, it didnt. Its like...stuck. But, I dont think that would stop it. I mean, its on tight. Then, the ram I pushed down tightly, and theres only one way for them to go in. Plus...I switched the power connector, and it didnt work.

Check your main board manual to ensure you have the cables connected properly. Usually they only go in one way, though. My first guess would that your RAM or CPU is not installed correctly or is faulty. -yk

Well, first you are going to want to start with the basics.

Make sure you have the power switch connected properly.

Then, take everything out of the machine and start with only the motherboard, processor, memory, video card and power supply.

If it works, then just add components one by one until you find the one that caused the problem.

If it still doesn't work when you bring it down to those components, you either have a short or one of the components is bad.

Make sure there are not any loose screws behind the motherboard. Also be sure that the motherboard standoffs are lined up with the screw holes and not contacting the back of the board. That could cause a short and no power, but it would be more likely to allow the computer to at least power up.

Take it out of the case and test it on a piece of cardboard to make sure it isn't shorting out on the case.

Then, if you still have problems, switch out the components one by one testing it in between to isolate the problem. Then it is as easy as replacing whatever component you found to be bad.

OK, Try unplugging non-essentials like fans and stuff. Just plug the power to the MOBO and a Hard Drive. BE sure everything correct and then try to get it to post. If, it does then systematically reconnect things until you find what killing the board. Usually it a power drain on the PS from something of no importance. I not want to commit, but, if you need more help you can email me. Give me specs on MOBO and "CASE"!!!! Then I can look up PDF Files om the Web-Sites. When I built my last computer the green light not even cone on. It was a Molex power cord to the front of the CASE, un-plugged it and everything was fine. That a Cooler Master Cavalier and ASUS MOBO. If, you need to email, it may be tomorrow before I can add more. Will need to read everything. I need HDD, MOBO, PS, CASE mostly. We not worry with extras, just unplug them including fans. It not overheat just posting.
Here tell you how to check the power supply;

Click on Articles up almost top center and many good things to read.

From your specs, it either the PS, read the Article Link and test. Remember any black is ground but you want to short to the wire he show you, red I think. Then I feel it just a wire on the case. Unplug stuff. IF, you not sure remove the CPU Heat-sink until you get it to post. IT not going to overheat posting, then just power off, if it go.

When I built my computer last year, I forgot to put the motherboard on the spacers. I had it resting on the case and it was shorting out so it wouldn't start. I'd take a look at that first.

Look at your PC Tower's manuel and/or your motherboard's manuel to see the correct hook up configuration from the power button to the board.

It's possible you have a short somewhere, have you kept your PC connected to a power surge protector, and is the protector less than 6 years old? If not, that could also be your problem.

Try reversing the power switch connector. It could be on backwards.
