If we're talking fast-food burgers, In-N-Out is by far the best choices. Not only are their ingredients fresh...and real, they also have great prices, making them the best value on the market as well. The only drawback is for people who don't live on the West Coast who don't get to take advantage of In-N-Out everyday.
By the way, Whattaburger is no good. I've had it twice now. The first time I was unimpressed, and I was encouraged to try again, and was equally unimpressed.

It's a line between the loose burger at the American Coney Island in Downtown Detroit, Ruby Tuesdays, and Fuddruckers.

Carl Junior. I also like whataburger, but Carl Jr is the place to beat.
In Belgium it's quick.
In France, I'd have to say that buffalo place.
In the UK, National Milk Bars.
Germany has lots of great burgers, it's hard to pick.
But the American burgers have got the be the best.

if you want to pay a little more, chili's bacon burger or bar-b-cue ranch burgers are the ****! a little less pricey would be hardee's frisco burger... comes on sourdough bread and is oh so good. (especially with a little honey mustard dabbed on it.) IHOP makes pretty good burgers, too.

IN-N-OUT BURGER! hands down. I live on the west coast, so not sure if they have it in other areas of the country.

Hueys in Chicago, in the Andersonville neighborhood, but if that is not convenient for you, I think the Burger King Double Whopper with cheese is pretty darn magnificent.

Steak and Shake has the best fresh made to order burger you can get through a drive through window. :*) Plus you can get a shake those great shoestring fries too.
