The best way is to have folders for different types of files. ie. schoolwork, pictures, music....etc.

Put all your papers in one big stack. Now, without looking at what is in that stack, make folders for the types of files you feel you need. File the papers that go in those folders. Most of the leftovers are trash. If you have made an oversite and missed a folder, just add it, but you gotta ask yourself first why you didn't think of it before and make sure you really need that stuff.

Don't worry. Mostly the disorganized people are either philosophers or big people. I may add that I also suffer from this and I have resolved it with this thought only. However, You engage me (without any cost) and I will try to do the job according to my experience.

create folders and categorizes your files, put them in the folders accordingly, make sure you name them appropriately so you'll remember
