Same answer as with Black History Month...

Every day is International Men's Day. Even International Women's Day is effectively International Men's Day.

Sorry uh, I might hurt some people's feelings, nut I find this International Woman's day thing simply PATHETIC.

Before getting mad, read below please.

First take a look at these page :
http://www.unac.org/en/news_events/un_days/international_days.asp
http://www.hrea.org/feature-events/index.html

Anything disturbing ?
The amount of special days per year maybe ?
Or maybe the fact that women's day comes in the pack with world poverty, slavery, deceases, war and so on ?

What I see is these days are chosen to remember people that there are really ugly things on this planet, and as we are all busy with our own problems, we unconciously forget the world's ones. We tend to forget about ugly things.

But for the sake of pete, WHY JUST ONE DAY PER YEAR FOR THE WOMEN ? Are they really seen as a major trouble ? Aren't women half of the human beings on earth ?

That's what I call hypocritic behavior, "let them have their day so they'll be quiet the rest of the year..."

Inter-gender comunication and women's struggle should be an everyday's quest for all of us, in mutual respect and interaction. Not some speech sometimes and a day per year
.
So, men's day, still sure ?

Because men have spent so little time being oppressed by women.

If that ever happens, after you've fought for a glimpse of equality, we'll give you an international men's day.

You got to vote for about a couple thousand years before we did, you got to choose who you married for more than that, and you can sleep with a bunch of women without being called a whore. Be happy with that and leave women's day alone.
