I heard on the news a baby was born 14 months premature, doesn't it take 9 months for a baby to develop?

An 11-ounce baby, Dakota Juanita Guido, was born 14 weeks premature in May, 2005. Some of the news stories have a misprint saying she was 14 months premature. On the other hand, you could say a baby is 14 months premature if the parents don't get married until the baby is 5 months old!

I guess it would be possible for an elephant since they have a 3 year gestation peroid. For a human, whoever told you that was pulling your leg. 14 days yes but not months. That is being born before you are a twinkle in your dads eye.

Yeah it takes 9 months for the baby. Maybe you misheard what was being said it could be possible that they were talking about an animal at the local zoo.

They probably meant 14 WEEKS.

And THAT is very possible...it would put the child at around 26 weeks gestational. My daughter was born at 27.4 weeks (she was 12 1/2 weeks early).

I'm sure they meant 14 weeks...It's impossible to deliver a baby 5 months before it is even concieved...

Was the baby in question "Human"? The gestational period for different animals are different..... I think there is a possibility that the article wasn't about a human pregnancy....
