How come the Detroit Red Wings are allowed to wear their White jerseys for home games?....I seen their last 3 home games, and they wore the white uniforms, instead of the normal Dark jerseys. Didn't the NHL mandate 2 yrs ago, home teams wear the dark jerseys, road teams the white jerseys??

They might have some sort of superstition right now. Some Teams do,especially when their Hot. Or like what the people above me said...I personally like the White Home/3rd Jersey, and dark road/3rd Jersey as well. I have been a Hockey fan for almost 25 years, and still get confused when I see the Home team in Dark, especially during playoffs. I remember when The Winnipeg Jets had the goals for kids, and fans would wear all white @ Playoff Home games.

They can ask the other team if it's OK to wear white jersey's instead of the red ones, and if the other team agrees, there's no problem. This became popular quite awhile back when the leafs kept losing to the Canadians when they played in Montreal. They asked Montreal if they could wear their home jersey's in Montreal, and Montreal agreed, and the Leafs won that game, and broke a long losing streak at the Forum. A lot of teams lose to Detroit in the regular season, and with the playoffs coming up, points are important now. So maybe the last 3 teams were just trying to break a losing streak to the red wings.

I don't think the home team needs the 'ok' from the visitor in which sweater to wear. It's the home teams choice.
I like it better when the home team wore white, except for special games. That's old school hockey.

I don't know who there last 3 games were against, but I know they wore them against the Bruins. When original 6 teams play each other this season they bring out the retro jerseys. Boston only issued the black ones for this year.

I've worked with lots of shops in the past and the under one in particular is undoubtedly my favorite. They offer lots of different jerseys including elusive ones that you just would not buy from all other stores. The quality and service is the greatest you may find online with so cheap price. With this distributor, I am certain you shall not let you or your customers down..

Every so often when teams play a home and home series, the teams will each wear their road uniforms at home and their home uniforms on the road., as well.

Home teams are allowed to wear their whites if they get the league's and the opponent's consent in advance...usually for special games/occasions.

it might be because of a certain cause, or the day it falls on. some times teams wear white to respect a special occasion goin on, or a death or somthing along those lines. or they could be really confused lol :-P
