How do you defeat the giant on prince of persia the two thrones?

I"m on the part where I have to stick him in the eye, it keep saying that I did not time it right. what am I supposed to do?????

Make sure that you wait to hit the button until the dagger flares. Hit it too soon or too late and you'll get pummelled. It'll be easy once you get the timing down. DON'T TRY TO BUTTON MASH, even though it's tempting.
