Well C-section is major surgery. The delivery of the placenta or afterbirth is down after the baby is born, you may or may not need to push. they will check to make sure that the plecenta came out intact, if needed they will inspect the utrus manually for fragments and remove any that remain. this also the time they will stich you up if you tore or got an epsiotomy If you do a vaginal delivery you have a few options to mange pain. Epidural, which you would also get with most c-sections, the baby may be a bit sluggish from the drugs, but you won't feel as much pain (or at least thats what they say I have never had one), Option 2 is getting IV pain killers till your about 6cms dialated. (did this with the first) Option 3 is natural, ie no pain killers ( I have done this once and plan to do it again with my third in june). You really won't remember most of the pain. Depending on how fast you progress and how well the baby tolorates labor, will determine which you can use.
Paraphrased alot form what to expect
Recovery from a c-section : is similar to recovery from abdominal surgery. You will also experance all the postpardum discomforts that you would with a vagianal delivery.
Anesthesia afteraffectsif you had general anesthesia you may be shky and sentive to tempature changes, missing , memory of the time , may take anywhere form a few hours to two days to recover from meds. if you had a spinal block you will have to remain flat.
Pain around incision site - this pain may last for weeks. you will be given, you can relay on otc pain releif when you leave the hospital.
Possible nausea with or with out vomiting
Breathing and coughing exersises - these help prevent pneumonia
Ok there are still two more pages in the book about after c-secstions so i would either go buy a copy or check it out from your libarary.
There is risk in all deliveries. talk to your ob about a birth plan
I hope this didn't scare you. Good luck with what ever choice you make.

A c-section is a MAJOR surgery!! It is invasive and hard to recover from. Natural child birth is just that Natural. Your body was made to have babies that way and if you do have problems that is why you have a doctor. I had a single birth all natural and twins with an epidural. I was up and walking around after I had them. with a c-section you dont move so fast and you will have a scar. Read up on it look it up online do not go by what one person says there are many different things that factor into having a C-section. It should ba a lst option NEVER a first. There is no reason to be with out info you can get pregnancy and delivery info from alot of sources. Good luck!

Vagnal birth is the way to go. I never tore and never had even one single stitch. In fact most women don't tear... you only hear about the one's that do, or those that had to be stitched because of an episiotomy... which is now not done as often (if you have a good doctor). There is no doubt that natural, vaginal delivery is the best way to deliver your baby. I was up and walking around in less than a half and hour. I felt great. No pain meds or anything. It wasn't nearly as bad as everyone tells you it's going to be.

Besides the fact that c sections are major abdominal surgery, and for most people come with higher risk than normal delivery and a much harder recovery, there are many good reasons to deliver vaginally if you can, including the fact that babies born vaginally have fewer respiratory complications. There are so many benefits to vaginal delivery, unless there's a good medical reason to believe that a C section is necessary.

I had a vaginal birth with my first child and the labor and delivery went well, but I thought the healing process was long a painful, but keep in mind that it took my doctor 45 minutes to stitch me up.I had a c-section with my second child and loved it!Yes, I was alittle sore, but it was so nice not having issues "down there".Everyone has a different experience. All I'm saying is if you are at the hospital and they tell you that you're going to have to have a c-section, don't freak. It's not so bad.Cogratualtions!

The gap to have another baby after c-section. Sort of depends on how your Uterus heals. Some doctors say 18months. But I know a girl who has 6 kids all c-section and she would get pregnant again when her baby was 8 months.
