On the show Heroes, episode 17, why did Claire's father have to die? How was that best course of action that they decided?

He did not die. It was a plan so they would think that he knew nothing about where claire was, and to make them think that she got away from him. If you saw it he told the hatian guy to shoot him in a certain spot saying that it wont do anything to him there. Omg i wait until the next episode im so exicted!!!

he was shot by the hatian guy then his memory was erased so he won't know where claire went so no one can get the info from him . he was discovered by the bad guys he worked for . to get a recap of the last two episodes go to these links:

he didn't die he was shot but had his memory wiped so they wouldn't know he was the one trying to protect claire. unless i missed the part where he got killed for real. darn now i have to watch it too b/c i already erased it from my dvr. next new ep is april 23rd. but i don't think he died in ep 17 cause when they come back it will ep 19.

he was shot because he wanted to save claire. it was a way to cast suspicion away from him when claire escaped. unfortunately, it didn't work.
