If you are traveling to the United States on holiday you will not require a visa. You will be given a green form I-94W by the airline when you check-in. This form allows you to travel without a visa. However, if you are intending on staying in the US for over 90 days you will require a visa - you will need to contact the US Embassy in London for further information; or the airline that you will be flying.
