I liked Gladiator, but was more impressed by Joaquin Phoenix than Russell Crowe.
Overall...300 KICKS GLADIATOR'S BUTT.
And Butler? I started purring over him back in Phantom :)

He is VERY different. Also, not Australian. He's Scottish.
I've loved Gerry for years. He's been in a lot of indie films that went unnoticed but were very good. One of them is Dear Frankie, which he made only a few years ago. Mrs Brown from back in the day, The Cherry Orchard, and more recently Beowulf and Grendl.

I wouldn't say he's that big of a star yet, but I'm definantly a fan after seeing Phantom of the Opera. However, he seems to be a rising star, so who knows?
