Would a standard 120v>240v converter work on a standard amercan dryer? like if I just wanted to use my 120v outlets in my home(mobile home)?

No, the average electric dryer requires a 30Amp @ 240VAC circuit breaker. Your best bet is to have an electrician come and wire the correct outlet and circuit (if possible). Barring that, purchase a gas dryer, it will only require a 120VAC outlet to operate its motor.

I really doubt it. My electric dryer is 4500 watts, so it is pulling 18.75 amps at 240Volts. You'd need a minimum of 40 amps at 120 volts to run one of this size by conversion and this wouldn't be a normal setup. Your wiring won't take it.

Get a dryer designed for that use, or a gas one.

I'm not too sure about that. My guess is that the dryer will pull too much amperage and trip the breaker. If the dryer pulls 15A @220V then it will pull 30A@110V plus any loses by the converter.

NO! the wiring in your mobile home can't handle it. Besides it would cost a fortune if it did work.
