Yes it's okay to go swimming while on your period and use a tampon. It may be uncomfortable but there is no harm in it.
I have done it and I'm sure plenty of other women have as well.

You cannot swim when you are menstruating unless you use a tampon. Otherwise you risk menstrual fluid in the pool.

yea i used on on my vacation i didnt want to sit and not go in the ocean on the last day go figure thats when i get it but you dont feel it at all and i would use it again in that situation
