Here are my picks:
1. Philadelphia Phillies 95-67
2. New York Mets 90-62
3. Florida Marlins 86-76
4. Atlanta Braves 80-82
5. Washington Nationals 78-84
I don't think the Mets will have the same success as last year given their patchwork pitching staff, but i look for them to contend for a wildcard spot. I believe that the Marlins will finish better than last year because of their ability to manage a tight budget, while putting out some exciting young players. I don't think the Nationals have a good enough offense yet, bt they could be there in a few years.

Phillies
Mets
Braves
Marlins
Nationals
Phillies ascend behind Rollins, Hamels, and Howard, the Mets lose Pedro for half the season or more and won't surprise anyone, Atlanta will rebound behind Huddy, Florida is still a season or two away from any real damage and have to figure out how to keep Cabrerra, and the Nats will be a train wreck this season.

NL East

*Mets 95 67

Braves 87 75

Marlins 85 77

Phillies 84 78

Nationals 70 92

I don't think this is the Phillies year yet.The Mets staff can hold up just enough to get the division title. The Marlins are young and improving, while think the Braves will bounce back. And of course the Nationals are just the Nationals.

Phillies-they match up well with the Mets on the field and at the plate, and their rotation just takes the Mets' to the cleaners. The Mets should be second best. Marlins third, though they could make a run at second-starting pitchers, you know. Braves fourth. Washington-last in MLB.

Because picking the total wins and losses is a waste:

1) Philly
2) Mets
3) Braves
4)Marlins
5) Nationals

No wild card out of this division either. Sorry Mets fans - not enough pitching here.

you put the mets in a disadvantage / only 152 games so if they play 10 more and go 5-5 they tie you for 1st place and mets win the playoff game when 49 yr old el duque pitches a scoreless 9th inning in relief
i like phillies to win the east , like you said the mets really have no pitching

I know the Mets are the popular pick, but I just don't feel it. I'm picking the Braves. History is on their side. Maybe I'll be wrong though. One thing I do know is the National League just doesn't have many top teams, and has less talent every year.
