How real a threat is (potential) Terrorism to you?

I don't worry about it. Everything happens for a reason and I'm not going to waste my every day being on the look out for something that's going to happen anyway. The only thing I worry about is when they're going to let our troops come home. I think if we minded our business in the first place, there wouldn't be so much terrorism. And it's not going to stop until we're out of Iraq and Afghanistan. We're just ticking them off more.

I don't think terrorism is such a high threat. If our country was so serious about it, then why have we been force shaping (downsizing the military) since 1991. Do some research and you will find that to be true. I am a former vet and so is my sister. My brother is a marine and my husband is in the AF. I am seeing so many people being force shaped aka forced out that it is rediculous. What is really curious is that the higher rank you have the more likely it is for them to do so. I know a guy who won't go Technical Sgt because all of the technical sgts in his shop are having their contracts discontinued for no fault of their own and people are being denied the ability to re-enlist when they have been in for years, have a perfect record, and know their jobs. Why is that may I ask. It is a very good question if you ask me

Yes, I would have no problem reporting suspicious circumstances to the police should I encounter something that was worthy of concern--- but way more out of the thoughts of normal criminal activity than anything that I would consider to be terrorist- based !!

I mean, you have to face the facts that there is infinately more chances that threats to you and I and our community is going to be from the normal run of criminal element than from some "holy war" fanatics from some sand dune somewhere--- yet--- they continue to roll back the funding for police departments everywhere in favor of shaking little old ladies down at airports for the fingernail files they're trying to "covertly smuggle" onto aircraft !!

When pressure mounts on the government over the overt use of these outlandish "security" measures--- they immediately come out with all kinds of statements about all of these "threats that they have stopped cold" and the MANY terrorist situations that they have thwarted--- but you know--- NATIONAL SECURITY means that they CAN'T explain the details of this and even get you information ABOUT it all--- in other words---- you have to take their WORD on the subject !!! And, we all know what kind of a track record the government has on honesty !!! But, now, you see, it is no longer a situation of ----- You can believe US --- and then them being faced with having to prove what they've said---- NOW --- it is more of a case of---- You Have to believe us---- and no recourse to ever have them prove a damned thing !!!!

And, here's another one for your "think tank"
with all of the major squeeze in the name of security -- to the place where you can not even LEAVE the country without a major security check and scan of everything you have-- and a three hour delay for the "security thing"--------why is it that there is a FLOOD OF ILLEGALS COMING ACROSS OUR SOUTHERN BORDERS that could and probably does have enemies of this country convienently tucked away with the masses coming in from Mexico--- with not only No concern at all from the Federal government--- in a lot of cases --- with the Federal governments actual ASSISTANCE !!!!!!!!! Explain THAT one to me if you can !!!!!!
