Go to a salon that offers brow grooming, which usually costs $10-25. Have the brow artist show you what to use. If they're worth their salt, they'll probably recommend a good quality angled brow brush and brow powder/s that match and enhance your coloring. I was really lucky to have worked for one of the most talented brow artists, but brows are one feature you should have an expert help you with, at least at first. Then, once you develop your 'hand,' you'll be able to frame your face like an expert.
One of the best in the biz was Kevyn Aucoin (rest his soul). His website still offers some of the BEST tutorials I've ever seen. Check this one out for help with your brows: http://kevynaucoin.com/archives/?brow

Use the pencil to draw on the shape of your eyebrow (not too heavy on the pencil) then take a short bristled eye brush and use it with the eyebrow powder. Go over the new line (lightly) with the brush & powder until you get the look you're going for. Set these with a light dusting of face powder and it should last all day. If you practice a little you should get a natural look and nobody will know you overplucked!

the trick is the right shade and the application. When applying it, brush your eyebrows first to how you want it (shape wise) then line them by using little strokes as if mimicking the size of each hair till you get to the end. Do little strokes. The best eyebrow pencil I have used and continue to use (I also have dark brownn brows) is Rimmell brown pencil in dark brown- it's cheap but effective or Sonia Kaschuk brow pencil in Haze. Both work well. With either one of these, you can also use Origins Just Browsing (it's like a mascara but for brows) right after you line them.

If you wanna look natural yet defined, powder, powder, powder! Ardell Brow Defining Powder is excellent, it fills in the gaps so naturally and is really effective. You just sweep the brush against the solid powder and brush it along your eyebrow...no one can tell. Plus you can get it cheap at a drugstore (I got mine at Target). I sound like an Avon rep ><

I like Avon eyebrow penils. They go on real easy and look natural. I have auburn hair and brownish brows and use a blondish/brown pencil for fill-in. That's what the Avon lady said and I like the look.

So it doesn't look that obvious, try getting the ones that already come with the special brushes for you to apply. I used to get Chanel and any other brand as long as it was powder and not the pencil because it makes them look ugly.

I use Brow Zings by Benefit. It has brow wax and powder. It keeps my eyebrows tame. People compliment me on my brows all the time, even when it's time for me to get them redone again.

i really like Avon's brow pencil. You're supposed to apply it with feather light strokes. I know a lot of ppl use brow powder too, but i never have...
