I have ovarian cysts, and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and so I have ultrasounds a few times a year to monitor the cysts. At my doctor's office, they actually use both internal (transvaginal) and external (pelvic) ultrasound to examine things. They ask that you come in with some liquid in your bladder (sometimes it helps the tech see where it is) but check with your doctor's office. They do the pelvic ultrasound, then let you go to the bathroom, and then they use the wand to do the transvaginal ultrasound. Most of the time, the tech won't be allowed to tell you much of about what he or she sees though-you'll need to talk to your doctor again to get that result.
The "medical card" may or may not pay for the medication. It depends on your prescription coverage, and what the medication your doctor prescribes is. The only way to find that out is to talk to the people who administer your medical card and find out what's covered. Does your medical card usually cover prescriptions? If so, and your doctor prescribes a medication like metformin (which he or she might do if you have PCOS) then the medical plan may cover it. Fertility meds though, like Clomid (another common early fertility treatment) may not be covered, unless your plan covers infertility related costs.
Good luck.

The ultrasound will be external. You should drink a lot of water before you go, it gives the doctors a clearer picture of your ovaries for some reason. I'm not sure about the med card-ask your doc about that. S/he'll probably know.

i think it would be an internal ultrasound. it is more accurate when women are in early pregancy since the baby is so small, but since your not pregnant, i'm not sure but my guess is internal. your doctor should have told you what to do before the appointment. Alot of times you are told not to eat and to drink lots of water. i think you should call the doc up and ask these questions, they could probably tell ya about your medical coverage too, but if not call them up next. Sorry i couldnt be more helpful

I have had both types of ultrasound. neither is painful. Your doctor should tell you what to do before you go in, if not then call up and ask. They are used to this kind of question at the doctors office. I dont know about the expense of the medicine but I dont think medicaid covers this. Im sorry that I cant help you with the medicaid question.

It will most likely be internal :( You won't need to drink lot's of water...
I'm not sure about the meds being covered? But your first go will most likely be Clomid.
Good-Luck

they will probably do an internal ultrasound. it don't hurt. and they will probably put you on some type of prenatal vitamins to help you get pregnant(they did me and now i am pregnant) your insurance should pay for most of it, you may have to pay a co-pay depending on what insurance you have, for me it 10 dollars a month for my vitamins. good luck

They will use the wand internally, and as far as your insurance goes, all companies are different. If you have pharmacy, then you should be alright.
Good luck

most of the time it is and external exam. The doctor would have informed you otherwise.
