I don't know if they can or not. However, I believe anyone who molests a child or anyone commits any sexual crime for that matter shouldn't spend any less the 25 years in prison, and anyone who murders ANYONE should never be free. If a child molester re offends he OR SHE should be put a way for the remainder of his or her natural life. I find it unbelievable every time I see a molester get sentenced with a chance of parole after 5 years.
In cases like that the jury should know that they do have the right, a right only given to the jury which is irreversible, to say not guilty.
However, I do think they're are some instances when the courts go overboard. Someone posted a new report on here one day that basically talk about an 18 year old who was sentenced to five years for statutory rape after having sex with a 17 year old who was a willing participant. I disagree with that conviction 100 percent. And I disrespect the jury for their decision.

It seems to be that everyone's saying no. I, however, believe they can be if they want to be. It's sort of like any other sex addiction that can be treated through therapy, but the person has to want to change in order to change. I have the suspicion that if you asked the same people if gay people can be rehabilitated, they would all say yes or that people are born gay. So, what's the difference? In my opinion, there is no difference. If a gay person really wanted to change, he could. It's the same for a sexual predator. This is not to say that I support sexual predators in any way. Believe me, I ******* hate them. One of my best friends was sexually molested by her father and I know the effects that **** has. But I'm answering this question with logic. The best way, according to a sexologist that went to speak at George Mason University--where my friend goes--last sememster, to handle any illegal fetishes is to act them out with a consentual legal partner. I think any reasonable person would do that in the first place and not hurt any children, so I do believe child molestors should be punished for their actions. I don't think they should be killed, however, because the best punishment would be just to let them stay in prison and get a taste of their own medicine.

Personally I don't buy into the rehabilitation theory for any crimes. People who are criminals are often in and out, which would suggest that it is not possible to change who somebody is. If you commit a murder, you would likely do it again, same with child predators and drug users. I've never seen rehab turn around anybody who didn't really want to change. If a child predator really wanted to change they probably would, but we can't afford to take the chance. If you turn loose 10 child predators and 8 return, then you have done no good for our society and have hurt 8 more children who didn't need to be hurt. The best thing to do is to punish their crime as harshly as possible, and monitor them closely when they have served their time. I hate these people and wish we could take a more harsh approach to them in the form of life sentences or the death penalty, but I will settle for 20 years and probation/monitoring for the rest of their life.

No, I don't believe they can be. I watched a show several years ago, I believe it was on HBO, about a prison that dealt exclusively with sexual predators and pedophiles. They talked with several of the offenders and all of them stated that they were right where they belonged. That if they were let out, they would again molest, rape and possibly kill. These men had been rehabilitated enough to know that they were a danger to society and that they should not be allowed out of prison. It was a very sobering show to watch and I wish it would come on again.

Sexual predators cannot be rehab-ed. There is one solution to the burgeoning problem in filing up prisons with these people and that is Castration and a lobotomy. The castration will take away all sexual ability and a lobotomy will take away all aggressive tendencies. So you have a nice calm neighbor, who is a threat to no one and you don't have to pay for them to be incarcerated and get free medical, legal and educational opportunities. Think about it less prison population=less tax dollars for prisons.

sexual predators are never rehabilitated. how can putting them behind bars ease some sick urge that they've always had for who knows how long?
see, if i ran a country it would be nothing like that. i don' t agree with the whole gay society thing, but i'd have to put them to use. ANYONE that would rape another person would be punished the same way they committed a crime. a man rapes, he will be raped ...by the gays and ten times worse!!!
LOL

Prevention is the only right way. coach your infants what it fairly is. they'd desire to comprehend. it somewhat is problematical to have faith human beings now days. i grow to be sexually abused by employing my father and step mom for extra or less 8 years, and your mum and dad are meant to be those you have faith maximum of all. tell them approximately their bodies and what's the adaptation between a physique section and a private section. clarify that no person ought to touch inner maximum areas and enable them to comprehend that if it ever happens or in the event that they experience uncomfortable in any way that they must come to you and to no longer be scared. That they won't be in hassle. only be in touch of their lives as much as a threat. on no account permit your shield down whilst it involves strangers. comprehend your community, like whilst somebody new strikes in. And no i do no longer think of that a sexual criminal could be rehabilitated. Sexual abuse on a baby is between the main terrible crimes and that i think of they must ought to positioned on a demonstration asserting what they're and take in spite of punishment society dishes out. wish this enables you by any skill.

Rehabilitated- what does that mean? Can they be made to change? No. Can they change if they really want to? yes. Can we be sure of it? No
Sex offenders are the lowest of the low. Can they be saved ? are you willing to love them? Didn't think so.
The law says that after they serve their time they are free.
Do you think a sex offender who has been in jail for x number of years is less likely to offend again?
This world is full of unloved people who think they have no reason to be good.
Can you change their mind?
More questions than answers but these things are not simple my friends.
What kind of people do we want to be?:

No, I don't believe they can be rehabilitated and as far as I know studies have shown they can't be. Unfortunately, our criminal justice system protects criminals more than it does the average citizen. It's time to castrate these s.o.b's and stop whining over their rights. *In order for drugs to work they would have to take them. Get it. If they don't think anything's wrong they're not going to take them. I like the gun idea.
