I am 17 weeks as well. It is normal to not have an ultrasound until around 20 weeks. That means that everything is going well!
I can't help you with the middle names. I am drawing a blank.
What your friend is telling you is just an old wives tale. They are completely unreliable. When you do finally get your ultrasound hopefully they will be able to tell you then.
Good luck

Your doctor should have had you get an ultrasound by now, if nothing else than to check for any health issues with the baby. I had my first ultrasound at 17 weeks (thought I was 15 at the time), and my second at 21 weeks. First was to check the size of the baby and to check for any issues. It was what the radiologist called an "anatomy check" of the baby, second one she finished up the measurments that she couldn't get before and determine sex. Your doctor will probably schedule your ultrasound after your physical. Might even adjust your due date some.
I think the name Savannah Leeanne is cute.
It's an old wives tale that woman who are carrying girls look "worse" than those carrying boys.

Yes u will most likely be able to see the sex of the baby very well by then.. just had my u/s on monday and i was 19 weeks and i found out im having a little boy. the wives tales dont really work..the only one i noticed works well with all 3 of my pregnancies was the heartrate...if your babys heartrate is under 140 u will have a boy and above 140 its a girl!! this can be very accurate at times and it doesnt hurt to try it =)
Good luck!!!

With first toddlers it fairly is hassle-loose to start feeling stream around 18-20 weeks (yet many times no longer quicker - what you felt at 13.5 weeks would have been wind or some thing else, or it ought to have been stream i assume yet that ought to be unusual). the toddler is barely nevertheless very small so the strikes are nevertheless very mild and that they gets stronger over here few weeks. i would not hassle while you're nevertheless feeling some stream and the midwife has detected the heart beat. Dopplers actually matter on the type you employ them, and while you're no longer interior the only right suited spot then you definitely won't pay attention it, so do no longer panic.

Normally the sex can be determined at the 18 week ultrasound... you'll just have to wait and see. Don't worry about the "full body physical"... when you're in labour, you lose all your dignity and embarrassement!!!!

I found out that I was having a girl at 17 weeks. I don't know about being "prettier" with a boy but it's a cute wives tale.

Ask your doctor at your appointment, they should give you an ultrasound date then. Usually 18-22 weeks is when they do ultrasounds.
