I live for the gift giving, many of these kids cherish something for their very own so I try to give mixed bags. Each gets the same thing I.E. a matchbox car or a pencil but I try to gear it to them personally, color, shape etc... also lotions, lip balm and flash cards. If I'm in a festive mood, I'll give them a noisemaker to drive their folks nuts. Many times it isn't JUST the need for special education it's the way these poor kids are being parented. Sad but true.

try some stickers, colorful pencils, and maybe a little bit of candy (and I stress, a bit!) keep it small and inexpensive, go visit your local dollar store, just look around and you'll find lots of things to add in there, along with colorful bags and cheep markers to make the bags for the gifts

As with any kindergartener, nothing small enough that they can put into their mouth and choke. Party supply stores usually have lots of things in bulk, such as treat bags, small boxes of crayons, cool pencils, etc.
(Honestly, why would a SPED kinder be any more different than a regular kinder?? Just thinking out loud...)

why are you giving them gift bags? is it an end of the year celebration or something? keep it simple, stickers and pencils are always a must and maybe something fun like playdough or bubbles. crayons are good too.
