Yes...animals do suffer from stress. I know for sure that cats and dogs, while stressed will shed frequently. We have a dog that is constantly under stress for no apparent reasona nd sheds all the time.

yes, it has been proven in the social study of the chimps and apes for years starting from the 1960's when doctor's taught "Coco" to sign language. She sometimes told them she felt sad and lonely.
Any pet owner who has more than one of anything can tell you once the pair is split up or one dies, the other mopes around and exhibits certain depressed tendencies over the loss of its friend. Have you never heard of separation anxiety in dogs? it is often this reason why canines destroy property and objects as a way to cope with being left alone by their owners....they perceive it as abandonment, a certain type of stress.

Absolutely! They can lose their hair. They can refuse to eat and become malnourished. They can even start to develop bad habits and show out like a child. Ye, animals can stress - sadly, they just can't let us know what's wrong.

Sure they do. Left my dog with a Vet/boarder she had to sedate him to the point he didn't even recognize me when I picked him up.

yeah i think they can, at least i know that my cousins kid was causing their cat stress cause he tortured the poor thing all the time.
