I think that Lanikai is cute. I hope I am saying it right - Lan-E-ky?

I am not sure on Alexis. To many L's.

Lanikai Jade?

You can definitely mix the name styles as long as the flow is good!

What does Lanikai mean in Hawaiian? I love the name Alexis and you also need to think about what people will "nickname" her later in life....."Lanni?" Lanikai is pretty, but 3 syllables is to long for most kids. My sister at first wanted to name her daughter Shenandoah...I told her her Nickname would be "Shannon" which she hated, so she named her Hannah.

i think it Lanikai is a nice name. I may not use it with Alexis, too many syllables (my son is Tobias Rapheal and i now look back and wish it were shorter) FYI tobias is mexican and raphael is italian, so mix it!! Also,it is fine to use if you are not hawaiian. do you know how many people use italian names when not italian? i dont think anyone will approach you and say that it was wrong to use that name if your not of that ethnic group.

im from hawaii and i think it sounds pretty. but do you know what it translates to? i think lani means heaven, but im not sure what kai means and what the two words would mean together. i mean what if it meant "not from heaven"? anyways like i said it sounds nice together, but just make sure you know the translation.

I think it's cute! It's totally acceptable, you can name your child whatever you want. And you can call her Lani for short! :-D
