Christine Chubbuck, her story is a sad one. I thought she was hot, I would have went out on a date with her. But I wasn't born till 4 years afer she died. Anyhow...I guess you could say it is public now. There are enough sites reporting her sad tale. While isn't not popular enough to make headline news, the truth is out there.
As far as the video, I found this while checking out a few sites about her: Christine's family brought an injunction against WXLT to prevent the release of the 2" quad videotape of her suicide. The Sarasota Sheriff's Department file lists a copy of the tape seized as evidence and later released it to Christine's family along with her possessions.
Assuming the video is in possesion of her family all these years, I see why it's never surfaced. They probably just destroyed it, who'd want to remember a loved on like that.

Simply because it does not exist anymore,The police in sarasota,florida destroyed the tape of her suicide . The only people who actually saw this was the poor folks who was watching the show suncoast digest on that morning.I have been interested in her story for a very long time.Such a sad story,She was very pretty and very educated ,She had a great life ahead of her,So sad she was so depressed that she could'nt realize that and did what she did.I started a yahoo group about her a few years back ,The link to the group is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/chubbuck
