why is being gay such a popular trend now a days? how and why is being gay so cool and acceptable? why do gays (especially gay women) use sex toys? why not get the real thing, something that can move with you?

why are you straight?.... I am a lesbian because that is how I have been since i can remember... my whole life to be exact... nowadays, everyone is gay, or lesbian, because they think it's cool... i happen to know a few people... I don't like sex toys... I don't like penetration... I don't NEED OR WANT the real thing...

I really don't think being gay is a popular trend. Homosexuality has always been around, but more people are starting to accept it. It's not so much that it's cool. People just don't care as much when someone else is gay. I believe a lot of people use sex toys whether they are gay or straight. This may be because they don't have a partner at the time and they enjoy toys more than hands or it may be a fetish that they share with another partner. Gay people do have "something that can move with" them when they are with a partner. I don't want to be too descriptive, but women can rub up against each other and guys...well, you should already know. But again, it's not a trend. I'm not gay and I'm not going to be gay just because other people are, so I think it's something people are born with. It just takes some people longer to accept it than others. I personally know that I've been straight since forever. I had my first crush on a girl in kindergarden, or preschool, i don't remember, but i was really young. You have to actually be attracted to someone to have sex with them. You can't just make yourself attracted to someone of the same sex because it's accepted.

I don't think it's a trend as much as that more and more homos are coming out of the closet, especially the younger ones.
Homos don't use sex toys any more or less than straight people (per a friend who works in a sex toy store).
True, women use sex toys more than men, mainly dildos and vibrators. But as noted above, lesbians don't use them more or less than straight women.
Most people who use sex toys use them as an alternative source of pleasure, not as a replacement (per a friend who works in a sex toy store).

The number of gays have always been about the same...but now we no longer have to hide it....so it seems to be more prevalent...as for cool and acceptable--i don't know...I just know that I am gay.

gay is not born to be gay,
a male become a real gay after he over 25 years old, because after over this age, usually he can't become "normal" again.
what is born is the impulse to be a female, this is different than a gay. this impulse is usually because of the genetics, like have xxy, xxxy gene.
