I have been good friends with this guy for years, we both know that we like each other but we've never spoken it. He knows he's attacted to me but he's ashamed to admit it, because he he so called doesn't like fat girls. Is it him or does size really mean that much?

Maybe to some people size does matter but I believe the only time size should matter is when it affects that persons self-esteem, respect of themselves, outlook on life. I don't believe others should change their appearance for anyone but Themselves!! If a person is heavy- yet has a great personality, loves life, has respect and is caring to others- no it should not matter.
Just a thought!

I think weight matters more to guys than it does to girls. I don't mind dating chubby guys, but I know that I had a lot fewer dates when I was heavier. As soon as I lost weight, I was much more popular. I think generally, people are better looking when they are not overweight. Also, now that I am fit and not overweight, I prefer to date guys who can keep up with me on hikes, bike rides, and other activities.
He may also have concerns about getting into a relationship with a woman who is likely to have health issues related to her weight. If he wants to settle down and marry, it is not unreasonable for him to want to marry someone who will be healthy and be around for the long haul.

A girls size matters to a lot of small-minded, shallow, ego-manical guys.....but...there are also many men out there who are looking for intellectual, insightful, good-humored and fun girls. I'm 50 now, been married twice and have always been big. But I'm funny and I know my way around the bed...if you catch my drift....LOL I've always been happy in that area. My hubby loves my curves. Men like that ARE out there. Not all of them are selfish, shallow, pigs, keep the faith babe....

Doesn't matter to a lot of guys. If your cute and more importantly have a good attitude size is not a big issue

Well. Yeah. Alot of people like people for looks. If they really like you its personality. And if someone is embaressed to be with someone they think is "big" they don't deserve you. Yeah I bet you hear that alot. Well, its true. If someones not gunna like you or gunna be ashamed to because you are ugly/big/unpopular/ what ever. Thats stupid. And of coarse thats not going to stop you from liking him. But you need to look him straight in the eye tell him yr feelings. [not too much to get you embaressed]and tell him if he doesn't want you because size, then its his loss.

It's ironic that you indicate you want only mature adults to reply to your question. It seems to me that, perhaps, this guy isn't so mature. If he were, size wouldn't be an issue. It's a shame that he's fallen prey to the social-stigma that surrounds weight issues. Find someone who will love who you are, not how you look.

You guys might like each other but he is just being shallow .There are plenty of men that are openly proud to like fat or larger girls. So no it doesn't matter that much unless they are willing to make it matter and be an issue.Who cares if you like the person you like them-sorry but he is acting low.

It's him, Love. It shouldn't matter so much, but it seems to. He may be a nice guy, but don't waste your time on him. You'll find someone who thinks you're hot and beautiful. If he really likes you he wouldn't care about what stupid people think.

I think most guys are insensitive to the issue, your friend is using the issue as a shield to keep his true feelings from you. Confront him about it, either make a move on he and see his reaction or have a converstion about it with him.
