For women that their husband have had vasectomy?

Well on March 8 my husband had a vasectomy done. Is it normal to feel scared of getting pregnant because I am so scared. What kind of protection did you use before your husband got to zero count? I am just asking because I am using condoms and I just want to take extra procation if I can.

You can use whatever you have been using all along.

I used condoms before my vasectomy, and continued to use them for about 6 months after. I didn’t go get the two tests. Usually they have you get one about 1 month after and another at about 3 months.

I just waited until 6 months and got the one test. The count was zero so then I stopped using condoms again.

That was 20 years ago. Take it from the "old timer" who knows.

sure, it's normal to feel "scared", but keep using condoms for a while to be sure and for your peace of mind.
normally, the doctor who performed the vasectomy will request a sample from your husband a few weeks later to make sure the procedure was successful. wait for the "zero" results before stopping with the condoms. good luck.

Continue to use any birth control until you see the zero count "certification". Condoms are good when used with a spermacide.

I stayed on my oral contraceptive (aka- the pill) until he got a zero count and then I stopped taking it. But, not until I was SURE and even a little afterwards.
