Well, anime and Manga are classified between their two different styles, titled by what kind of crowd is to be attracted to. There are shojo (girl) and shoen (boy). I will explain them more in detail for you
Shojo is more of a romance and love type of anime/manga catagory. The characters have more bigger eyes than Shoen mangas. Its mainly to do with the story plot and the art the artist decides to use. I love shojo girls in cute dresses (it makes them so adorable X3)
Shoen is more of an action, sports type of anime/manga catagory. The main characters (mainly boys) normally have smaller eyes. Also has to do with the plot and story line and the art.
Then there is hentai/doujin. Hentai is actually something like anime porn (I'm telling this to you now so you are prepared for it when it comes up in google searches) and its gross. Doujins are more like mangas with porn in them. Doujins may also be like a fan fiction thing, having two characters already created in a manga, having sex. Both of these things are gross.
