Who is smarter Japanese or Filipinos?

If Japanese created Robots, the Filipinos created the yoyo. So the question is, who is smarter between the two?

There are smart people and not so smart people in any country. Nationality has nothing to do with it.

Having lived in both countries, Japan and Philippines, I would say you have asked a difficult question. There are some areas where Japanese are incomparable and there are some areas where Filipinos are incomparable. When it comes to technology or business then Japanese are smarter than any other Asian nation and when it comes to general knowledge or education then Filipinos are on top. The general knowledge of the Japanese is very poor you can just imagine that once an old Japanese asked me whether we had moon back in my country. On the other hand Filipinos even the kids are very smart and educated but like many other asian countries their problem is "insincere" leadership. A leadership which can take them to the heights of prosperity coz Philippines has every thing in it which can make it a true asian power but the corrupt bureaucracy and incapable leadership has made the life difficult for a common filipino.

hey I'm Filipino and this question isn't fair. There were a lot of indigenous people in the philippines during the 30s-40s, different folks, different languages and what the japanese did to my ancestors were NOT AT ALL SMART, they maimed, killed, raped our people. So if you think a person is only classified by her or his intelligence then you're a fool.

well, according to some reports i read in the newspaper recently. Scientists found out Asians (japanese, Korean Chinese in China) are smarter than South-East Asians. It main factor is due to the living environment. (This is on the average.) Despite this, there is always smart humans and stupid humans in a country and you cannot discriminate against one race. it is rude to say that one race is more interior than the another one.

Depends on what your definition of "smart" is and from what vantage point of "smart" you're coming from. Both Filipinos and Japanese have attributes that are unique to each of them.

Hah. Sorry. One of my investors is a Filipino and he's one of the smartest guys I've ever met.
Japanese are great with their technology and all but I'll let you know this:
The Filipino classmates I had back in Harvard were really street-smart. They can adapt to just about anything.
What really impressed me about Filipinos though is that they can take on several accents.
One of my friends, he's full-blooded Filipino, Pinoy, what they call it, in case you don't know, he has my old Irish accent down pat, my ma loves it. My friend also switches from several American accents from the Southern drawl, to the annoying New English stiff-up's, Bostonian and that trademark accent from Chicago.

And he and his family are fluent in five different languages. And with the election going on, we hear can really see that it takes more than creativity to survive third-world strife.
Filipinos. Know. How. And they're really good drinking buddies, too - and being Irish, I'd know what a good drinking buddy is.

jeez louis.... maybe if you compared filipinos to a wall it'll be interesting to see who is smarter. but i'd say japanese by a LONG shot... very long shot. :}

why is the human race so concerned about superiority and inferiority. why we just live as god made us and work together to benefit the human race.
