The short answer is: you can't. Real player was not made for that purpose. It plays media. The files are never actually "in" real player. Real player just accesses them.
Your ipod is a storage device and a player. It's like a little mini computer in a way. You need different software to manipulate files and put them on your ipod. The good news is, 2 of the best ones are free.
The first one is itunes (I refuse to jump on that weird capital letter bandwagon with the cap T). The other one is Media Monkey. Media Monkey is actually better, because if you have something on your ipod that isn't in your computer, itunes will delete it from your ipod when it goes to 'sync' them up. There's alot more to this than I can explain in the space available here, but the basics aren't hard to learn. The easiest way is to find a friend with some familiarity to show you the fundamentals.
First thing to do though is, go get one of those software tools from www.download.com and install it on your computer.
By the way, when you do this, here's a couple of tips:
1. itunes, if you use it, will ask if you want to convert all the files automatically to some format that it likes. This is not necessary, and if it finds any that won't convert, it will delete them, gone forever. So, if it prompts you for any choices where it says 'let itunes do this or that?', tell it no.
2. The second thing, if you ever go to load photos on your ipod, itunes will prompt you to find out if you want to reformat them to save space. It's best to tell it no. They will never take up nearly as much space as music or videos, and unless you keep the original files somewhere else, you'll never be able to size them up again. If you just tell it no, it won't be a problem.
Good luck! It's really fun once you get into the groove and get past the initial frustration.
