I'm very unhappy with my life. I'm 23 years old, and all my friends have recently graduated college, getting real jobs and creating new lives as adults. Some are renting apartments or buying cond's; others are getting engaged.

Right now, I'm still in school. I decided 1/2 way through my college career to change my major. I got behind, way behind. I don't have a tentative graduation day for at least another 2 years. I work part time at a min. wage job, that pays no one, the hours are bad and I get overworked for the $ I make. It's the only job I can get w/ my schedule.

I also have a sick parent, and recently just recovered from another stressful family situation that happened last year.

All around me people are having good things happening in their lives. I seem to be going through a rough stop, that just won't end. I feel like at my age, I should be experiencing, the positive aspects of becoming a young, independent adult.

Will this phase end?

i'm also running out of money. My family wants me to finish school this year, so that I can work and help w/ some financial responsibliies that are due to my parent's illness.

Should I drop out of school?

I can empathise with you - I felt the same way and I've also had a pretty trying year (last year). I won't comment on the university part because that's something only you can decide on. I will say that I managed to struggle through and finish my degree with very little money and was invited to do my honours but as it turned out, I may have been financially better off without the degree. Only you can answer that part of your own question.
The only real advice I can give you, is not to compare yourself to your peers. That probably sounds strange but if you stop creating the thought that "I should be doing this at this stage of my life" you'll find you;re not as stressed or pressed to achieve certain 'things' within a defined time frame. No matter how crappy, nothing lasts forever. This time will actually pass.

I'm so sorry you are under such a heavy load at such a young age. Before you drop out of school, examine very carefully where this education will take you. Will this education enable you to have a much higher income, or would you do just as well to start a full-time job now? Would you be just as happy to find a program you could finish within a year? If you dropped out, is there work available that would be meaningful to you?
For most people, I would advise getting the degree now (a bachelor's?). When you start working after getting a degree, you start out at a higher payscale, and stay at a higher payscale the rest of your worklife.
Can you get some financial relief with addtional financial school aid? I was falling behind financially, but finally used part of a school loan to pay my living expenses. It took a tremendous burden off my mind. Are there other forms of aid available to your parents, such as social services aid?
Make sure you are finding ways to destress! Instead of comparing your life to your friends, look at all the people behind you,who aren't as far along as you are yet! You'll get there yourself soon enough!

Dont drop out of school because I hate to add fuel to the fire but you probably have loans like many of us college students. To pay all that money and not come away with some type of degree would be heart breaking. You need to get on the grind and make it happen. Life is ruff and no one said it was going to be easy. I am 19 and I work damn near a full time job and managed to take 18 credits this semester and last. I think if you stopped focusing on what your friends are doing and concentrated on you and yours, it will be much easier for you to get through it. Your time will come, you just have to continue to work at. Besides the grass isnt always greener on the other side, your friends still have a long road ahead of them to. God Bless you!

I have Spa parties in my home, others homes, businesses, anywhere you can think of. They are so much fun, you can choose any theme, such as:
Teen Spa, Office Retreat, Martini's/Margarita's & Make-overs, Happy Hour, Bridal Spa, Mens Spa, Grand Opening, Champagne Spa or anything you can imagine.

You create your own schedule, work as little or as much as you want. The company I work with is $250 to join, this month you can join for $99, and you receive over $700 in product and sales aids. If you are serious about building a business for yourself I can help you get started without paying a penny.

Not happy do something about it, change it.
And why ask people you don't even know if you should quit school? Don't be so gullible, you have a brain use it.
How did you make it this far in life?
By your your brain or charm and beauty?
Change some things that your not happy with, add some spice in your life, your just in a rut sorta speaking.

You just need to tie a knot in that rope and hang on baby, sky will be bluer if apply your self to whatever it is to make you spark .

Please stay in school. If you drop out, all of those years will have been for nothing.
I do Tarot card readings, and make $100 at parties btw. I like the Spa idea. You can do that on your own. Basically make your own luck.
I was out of college at 23, but you would never know it, so please hang in there! It does get better, I promise!!
I wish you a great job and true love and happiness

That`s alot and i am sure you are feeling overwhelmed...but there are no paths in life that give any guarantees so don`t quit school...be patient, be happy with your ability to work and even go to school...choose to enjoy whatever you do in life because it makes the tough times easier...do only what you can, and be happy with who you are...you have many wonderful character traits...

If you drop out of school, your situation will never change. It will be one dead end job after another. You think you're dissatisfied now? Ha!
