I just got out of a long-term relationship and it's been about 5 months since we split, and I've been having some feelings that I can't quite understand. There are a few guys I know that I have "crushes" on, but I don't know why I like them! I'm worried that I might be trying to like other people to make myself feel like I'm over this past relationship. Is this normal?

That sounds perfectly fine. It has been a little while since the split, so it's totally okay to start liking other people. It may even be a sign that you truly are over the relationship. If you feel you are over the person, and are now liking other people, then you probably are over the person!

our mind can play strange tricks on us. crushes are essentially a fantasy that we play out in our minds. we invision ourselves being with someone, and we take what we know about them and make up the rest of their personalities in our mind.

it is normal to crush on people yet not really understand what it is that we like or what is causing the crush.

it could be a sign that you want to move on and start dating again. or perhaps they are just randon thoughts based on some random attractions.

why r u feeling this way? well, i think it's only natural and normal to develop crushes on people we are attracted to. nothing wrong with that.

but make sure you rationalize with yourself and decide whether or not you really are over your past and if you really are ready to start dating again.

It's normal to feel this way after coming out of anyone loved relationship.
maybe take time, get to know your self better and just take one day at a time.
You will know when the time is right. And only when right.

I am going through the same thing!!! It is frustrating and demeaning. If you get an answer please forward it to me. I would love to figure this out myself. I am so lonely that I feel like I am in danger of getting back into the same relationship
