It IS legal, but only to a certain amount of time in a pregnancy, but if I were you I would google it or go to ask.com. Some good reasons for it to be legal are for illness issues such as a baby being born with some kind of illness that will cause a short painful life, or the fact that the baby would kill the mother when the mother gives birth, and the main reason is that it is CHOICE. Goodluck on your debate.

I would do a search in your search engine for those sites. Use different phrases to get different results. Also if you go to my avatar and click on it, I just responded to a person asking about abortion, there were a few really good responses on why it should be legal and why sometimes it is the right thing to do. That would give you some good arguments. Good luck

For each fetus saved 12 living and loved children die. This is because the resources used to raise a fetus in the United States could be used to save a third world child from starvation. Therefore if you save the fetus you kill 12 loved and wanted children.
When a pro lifer says that God "knew me in the womb" or some other nonsense, it does not mean that God approves of trying to save a fetus. After God says he knew the fetus, he frequently aborts the fetus in miscarriage.
Supporting pro life is supporting rape. Why should a rapist be rewarded with a child for commiting his crime.
A fetus is not a baby. A baby can live outside the womb with little or no help and a fetus cannot without extraordinary life support.
To see other reasons click on my avatar and go to my questions. There is virtually no reason to support the pro life view.

I think it is the killing of an unborn baby... BUT...
Abortion is an act of desperation. The way to get rid of abortion is to render it unnecessary, through proper sex education on the one hand, and making it easier for a young/single/frightened mother to have the baby. For this last it would need to be not a stigma, and people would need to be supportive and helpful in the raising and care of the child.
If you're pro-life, you have to be pro-life through the entire life cycle. You can't just make women have babies and not care about what happens after. Health, care, support, and education must be provided.
It's also known that teenagers are likely to have sex, and unprotected sex, because they want to be accepted and are afraid of rejection if they insist on birth control or that they are not ready. This attitude needs to change. Teens need to have the moral courage to take care of themselves and make good choices. My kids aren't teenagers yet so I'm not an expert, but this is an important source of the problem.
Between this and the educated avoidance of unwanted pregnancies via information and birth control, I think we'd be far on our way to reducing abortions to those of cases of incest or rape.
Legislating this and making more women more desperate is not the answer.

my guess is your for abortion,so I'm not going to help your little crusade.because that unborn child dosent have a choice weather they should live or die which is unfair.if a mother dosent want the child they should at least have it and give it to a family that cant have children.give that child a chance for life
