I don't know about Illinois schools, but basically a moderately good score to get into a moderately good college I would say it would be in the ranges of 24-28. If you have those scores most colleges not the Ivy League ones but most would accept you. You also have to remember you don't get into college on ACT scores alone. You could be a genius and not have any extra-curricular activities and still not get in, but a person who was not as smart as you could still get in due to recommendations and activities.

Alot of colleges want an ACT score of about 22 or 24. Apply even if your score is less, because colleges let more people in than who they say. Remember, they WANT your money!!!haha!

I would generally say shoot for 28 or above. 28 would be like bare-minimum there, if speaking only in terms of ACT score.

ooh, thats a trick question.
The ACT is pretty much only used in Michigan. Everywhere else requires you to take the SAT.
But i got a 29 the only time i took the ACT and i got accepted to every school i applied to.
