I am a Conservative Catholic but I still believe in gay marriage. I know that probably sounds odd because most people who are from these political/religious backgrounds on the majority wouldn't agree, but I am mostly concerned with what is fair. I actually find it really distasteful that people bash gay marriage when about half of heterosexual marriages usually end in divorce. With such high divorce rates, as well as statistics for domestic violence for heterosexual couples that are still together, I don't know why people are still trying to defend the "sanctity of marriage." I mean love is love, so there is no reason why people like you and your boyfriend shouldn't be together. I'd definately vote YES for gay marriage any day because it is JUST and this is supposed to be a country based on equality.

I would vote YES. I think Gay people should have the same right to get married as straight people do.
Best Wishes.

I'm straight and very conservative, but not Republican and not a follower of any organized religion. I voted against Wisconsin's amendment to define marriage as being between a man and a woman.

My sympathies to you about living in Texas. I live in Texas also.
I support removing restrictions to marriage for same gender couples. Families-- gay, straight, or whatever you like-- should be valued.
Marriage is a civil rights issue, and should be available to all.

I am all for gay marriage (straight female). I think, as long as you love someone and want to make a lifetime commitment, that's great! We're all humans, and being gay/straight doesn't matter. Also I think that "being gay is a choice" is bs. You're born straight, so why not born gay?

As someone who's straight, I honestly think that gay people should be allowed to do whatever they please. Accepting gay marriage will only teach people to be more open minded and accepting to others. Unfortunately this country was built by a bunch of religious nazis who's understanding of the bible was totally lost in translation. Its easier to stick with something you know and call it tradition than it is for you to accept the unknown of change.
