I'm trying to pull several all nighters in a row to get some badly needed college work done, but I can't motivate myself and keep wasting time on the net and yahoo! answers!

Yup Redhead I do! I actually need the net and the word processor to actually do the assignment....... I am actually trying to work whilst also flicking back to this....

take a shot of some sort of alcohol...either it will calm you down to motivate, or you'll pass out of exhaustion. Both are probably good.

Dude, shut off your computer or disable your internet. write a sign on your hand that says "get to work!" or so something!! You need to seriously motivate yourself. Think about what would happen if you failed the assignment, got kicked out of college and turned into that hobo down the street! not fun, man. Just focus on what you have to do and do it. you've gotta have the willpower.

Clearly you don't enjoy what you are studying.
It won't take you very far in the future career unless you love what you are doing and get obsessed. It's a very competitive world out there. If you want to become professional, unless you excel in your field you won't find any employement beyond 40 nowadays.

I think WRITING this question on yahoo answers just made it so much worse. Turn off your damn internet. That should help. I just hope you recognize the irony of asking for help on the net and website that you blame so much

Maybe something else is bothering you and your avoiding it by doing other things than what you need to do. Maybe you don't really like the work you need to do. Maybe you should find work that you enjoy doing, but sooner or later all work becomes work you need to do. Maybe you could compromise and do both. good luck with this.

May be you feel you are being needed by answering other people question . When someone feel s(he) is needed in something where there is no doubt of fullfilling it , the person will feel much interesting . This is a kind of self-satisfaction.

If you can't motivate yourself. are you doing the right course,lost interest and fed up with it. Either get interested,a new course or get a job.

it's like getting up at 5am, you got to drag yourself. right now i'm supposed to be doing my Romeo and Juliet essay so i'm going to force myself to turn of the internet and get my mind working . i know it's hard to make yourself do it, but do it and after you'll feel great!
