Depends upon what country you are form will determine whether or not the word is spelt correctly. Canada and the US spell the word differently. Color or Colour. Same word but different spelling. Stupid but true.

I have seen it spelt that way,and also
spelt "color'',i've always spelt it
color.

I agree with "justbeingher." The word you have misspelled is "spelt." If you are speaking of the past-tense of spell, it would be spelled.

No it's not. That's the spelling I was taught at school.
Different countries different spelling of some words.
